Ezer Medical Consulting is a woman-owned business created by the founder, Amanda Ray, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, WCC, OMS. Amanda is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who has worked in primary care, urgent care, acute care, and home health. She is a certified wound care specialist, ostomy management specialist, and sharps debridement specialist with an extensive knowledge base. She is well-known amongst the local medical community for her expertise.

It began with a vision to offer something better than what currently exists. With over a decade and a half in the nursing field caring for individuals and realizing the faults of the medical world and insurance coverage, a dream came into focus. We strive to help people with an array of offerings. After navigating the complexities of Nurse Practitioner state boards and licensure, Amanda recognized that other students may also need guidance to understand “what to do after graduation.” Thus, the offer of guiding students with step-by-step information to minimize anxieties over the application processes. Amanda’s first love and passion is wound and ostomy care. Millions of individuals struggle with finding proper care for wounds and understanding the life-changing process of living with an ostomy. Too often, they are treated by people who proclaim themselves to be “experts” with little to no experience. We desire to provide the most current, scientific, and real-world education and treatment for clients with wounds and ostomies, aiming to help them heal in their body, mind, and spirit.

The word Ezer struck a chord when I considered choices for a business name. In the Bible, God’s first words used to refer to the creation of woman in Genesis 2:18 are, “I will make a helper suitable for him.” This term helper, in Hebrew, is Ezer Kenegdo. In Hebrew, Ezer means “helper suitable.” It is not a subservient term. Instead, it is a term that implies someone who helps, aids, or strengthens those who cannot help themselves. God used this term in the Bible several times about Jesus. The term implies strength and equality unchallenged by age, gender, or race but suggests someone fully capable and equal to provide the support needed. This phrase epitomizes what we aim to do in helping others with our knowledge and skillset, all delivered with a heart of servitude.
